The Breast Imager will play a crucial role in the interpretation of mammograms and other breast imaging modalities. The ideal candidate will have specialized training and experience in breast imaging techniques, along with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret mammograms and other breast imaging studies to detect and diagnose breast abnormalities, including but not limited to, breast cancer, cysts, and benign tumors.
- Utilize advanced imaging technology, such as digital mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and tomosynthesis, to provide accurate assessments of breast health.
- Collaborate with radiologists, oncologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients diagnosed with breast conditions.
- Perform image-guided procedures, such as breast biopsies and aspirations, using ultrasound, stereotactic, or MRI guidance.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in breast imaging through continuing education, participation in conferences, and professional development activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, quality assurance standards, and patient safety protocols in all aspects of breast imaging services.
- Educate patients about breast health, screening recommendations, and the importance of early detection in preventing breast cancer.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient consultations, imaging interpretations, and procedural outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of a residency program in radiology.
- Board certification or eligibility in radiology with subspecialty training in breast imaging.
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Texas
- Proficiency in interpreting mammograms, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and other breast imaging modalities.
- Experience performing image-guided breast procedures, such as biopsies and aspirations, preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team
