As an Invasive Interventional Cardiologist, you will be responsible for providing specialized cardiovascular care to patients through a range of invasive procedures. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnostic Procedures: Perform diagnostic tests and procedures to assess the extent and severity of cardiovascular diseases, including angiograms, echocardiograms, and cardiac catheterizations.
  • Interventional Procedures: Conduct a variety of interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, atherectomy, and other minimally invasive techniques to treat coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and structural heart conditions.
  • Patient Consultation: Consult with patients to discuss their symptoms, medical histories, and treatment options. Provide clear explanations of procedures, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including other cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurses, and technicians, to ensure comprehensive and personalized patient care.
  • Research and Education: Stay updated with the latest developments in interventional cardiology. Contribute to research activities, publish articles, and participate in educational initiatives to advance the field of interventional cardiology.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in New Mexico
  • Fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology from a reputable institution.
  • Proven experience in performing a wide range of interventional procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
