A growing financial institution is seeking an experienced Business Development Officer (BDO) / Lender with expertise in SBA and USDA loan programs. This is a 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while building and managing a portfolio of business clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of federal lending programs, be skilled at relationship development, and thrive in a results-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Originate, structure, and close SBA and USDA loans for small to medium-sized businesses nationwide

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business owners, referral partners, and community organizations

  • Conduct financial analysis, review creditworthiness, and prepare complete loan packages for approval

  • Collaborate with underwriters, legal, and operations teams to ensure timely and compliant loan closings

  • Actively generate new business opportunities and expand the bank’s lending footprint

  • Stay current on SBA and USDA regulations, loan programs, and market trends to advise clients effectively

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a lender or BDO with a focus on SBA and USDA lending programs

  • Strong understanding of business financial statements, credit analysis, and underwriting principles

  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to work independently in a remote, results-driven environment

  • Familiarity with banking software and online loan processing platforms
