The ideal candidate will specialize in breast imaging and diagnosis, utilizing state-of-the-art imaging technologies such as mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and image-guided biopsies.
This role involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including oncologists, surgeons, and primary care providers, to ensure high-quality patient care and early breast cancer detection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs.
- Perform image-guided breast procedures, including biopsies, aspirations, and pre-surgical localizations.
- Provide consultations to referring physicians regarding imaging findings and next steps.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop patient management plans.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and peer review initiatives.
- Stay updated on advancements in breast imaging techniques and technology.
- Educate and mentor residents, fellows, or medical students (if applicable).
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology.
- Fellowship training in Breast Imaging or equivalent experience.
- Active medical license in the state of North Carolina or eligibility to obtain one.
